Humans want a fresh drink but afraid of a sore throat. That's how the villagers feel. Villagers still rarely have a refrigerator, let alone ice. However, they have a traditional fridge ice jug. I wrote about the "kendi" Javanese refrigerator. Happy reading.

A jug is an object or property that is used to store drinking water, as well as a tool for drinking. The jug is made of clay. Some areas in Indonesia are places for craftsmen and jug users. The jug is an ancestral heritage that needs to be preserved.

Making jugs usually uses a rotary technique. This technique is done by placing the clay on a turntable right in the middle. How to make a jug:

1. Looking for good quality clay

2. Mix the clay with enough water

3. Stir the dough until it is evenly mixed

4. Shape the jug by hand and the rotary tool, just rotate it and shape it at will

5. After it is formed, don't burn it first but dry it first under the hot sun for 12 hours or it can be more depending on the heat of the sun (the jug must look strong to burn)

6. Burn the jug with a kiln for 2-3 hours as long as the ceramic looks reddish

The jug became the attention of the researchers. Some research on jugs. One of them, the results of the analysis revealed that the basic shape of the jug in general is a globular shape with the addition of a cylindrical shape at the top which functions as a handle. The anatomy of the jug consists of the mouth, neck, spout, body, and legs. In addition, illustrative data was obtained about the evolution of the shape of the jug in Indonesia compared to several other countries, as well as the development of the tradition of the jug which is still used as a ritual or profane object (Winata, 2019).

A good jug is a jug that has been burnt until it is cooked, the bottom chart does not seep or leak, has the funnel part slightly downward and the funnel slope is approximately 450, and the shape of the body bubble is inflated with the neck or handle according to the size of the hand grip. This advantage makes it easier to pour water from the jug into the glass. The clay material makes

the jug water cool and cool. The water in the jug is boiled water that has been boiled until it boils, then let it sit for some time until it is cool (not hot). The water is filtered and poured into a jug. The jug makes the water cooler than the indoor air temperature and cooler. The most important and necessary is that the water in the jug has a cool level that suits the throat.

The price of a jug in the Central Java area ranges from Rp. 10,000, - to Rp. 15,000, -. This price is cheaper than buying a drinking water cooler and more economical. In addition, there is no greenhouse effect from the jug, while the cooler produces CFC materials that affect global warming.
Chloroflourcarbon can damage the earth's ozone layer. When released into the atmosphere, freon (CFC) will turn into carbon dioxide which increases the density of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. CFCs can also cause depletion of the earth's ozone layer. So that the sun's ultraviolet rays enter the earth directly and increase the earth's temperature, then the earth becomes hot. This is due to the difference in wavelength, written in Handoko's book Basic Climatology (1993) that the wavelength of solar radiation is called a short wave. On the other hand, radiation from the earth or objects on earth is called long-wave radiation. The sun with a large surface temperature of 6000K, radiation has a wavelength range between 0.3-4.0 micrometers. Meanwhile, the earth with a temperature of 300K (270C) emits radiation with a wave range of 4-120 micrometers.
The Indonesian government is trying to phase out the use of CFCs by gradually reducing imports of goods with CFCs. This action can be seen from the issuance of regulations prohibiting the import of goods with CFCs, namely the Minister of Trade Regulation Number: 3/M-Dag/Per/1/2012 concerning the Prohibition of the Use of HCFCs in Industry and the Minister of Trade Regulation Number: 55/M-Dag/Per/9/ 2014 concerning Import of Refrigerated-Based Goods. From the calculation results, it is known that the change in the use of HCFCs in Indonesia to non-HCFCs contributes to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by around 1,550,000 CO2 equivalent tons.
In commemoration of World Ozone Day September 16, 2022 with the Number: SP.265/HUMAS/PPIP/HMS.3/9/2022. The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) said that almost 99% of ozone-depleting substances have been removed and the ozone layer has been gradually recovering. This indicates that global cooperation in the Montreal Protocol has succeeded in achieving its goals. Also, the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Prof. Siti Nurbaya, in her message conveyed that the theme of this year's Ozone Day commemoration emphasized that the impact of the implementation of the Montreal Protocol has extended to the realm of climate change. For this reason, collaborative actions, partnerships, and global cooperation are needed to answer the challenges of climate change and protect the earth for future generations.
In an effort to reduce the use of CFCs, the Government will not succeed if it is not supported by the people. The government also needs support from the community in the form of proper use of air conditioners, no longer using refrigeration items that use CFCs and replacing refrigeration items that use CFCs with non-CFC refrigerants.
